Dana White announced earlier today that the bout between current light heavyweight champ Shogun Rua and Rashad Evans, will be delayed due to the fact that Rua had to have knee surgery following his win over Lyoto Machida at UFC 113.

“He had the surgery in L.A. He’s gonna do all his therapy in Vegas. So he’s gonna be in Vegas for the next five weeks,” stated White.

“He needed (surgery) after the fight. He got hurt in the (last Machida) fight. ”

“He’s got a knee problem now, and he got it fixed. He had a bad knee after the fight.”

White also told MMAWeekly.com that he wasn’t sure when Rua would be cleared to return, but that it wouldn’t be long and used the example of Rua getting his appendix removed just a month before his fight with Machida.
