Fighter Dan Lauzon has officially been released from the UFC after his loss to Efrain Escudero at UFC 114, making it the second loss in a row.

Joe Cavallaro, promoter of World Championship Fighting and also a business partner and friend of Dan Lauzon confirmed the news earlier today.

“His contract was terminated. He’s just got to go back and get more experience. Dany is very very young guy,” said Cavallaro. “He is a tremendous fighter. He needs to get the right training, the right camp and get a handful of wins again.

I was talking to Joe Silva about it and he said ‘we’ll definitely have him back. We love him, he’s a tough kid. He just needs more experience, a consistent camp.’ He did learn a lot from this fight.”

It was well known that leading up to the fight, Lauzon was fighting with his older brother Joe as well as coaches Joe Promfret and Steve Maze. None of these men were seen in his corner at the bout. Although Dan stated that he’s doing better without his brother and former coaches, it may very well had an affect on his performance.
