Stefan Struve (24-5) vs. Stipe Miocic (9-0)

Stefan Struve is now literally a giant. It was reported yesterday that “Skyscraper” has officially grown to seven feet tall. With his new found height, and his first headline card, he’s now aligned to grow into the tallest point of his career . On the same hand, so will Stipe Miocic with a win. Dana White has let it be known that both fighters with a win here will become a true contender. The question is who will make that step, and who will be able to challenge the top of the Heavyweight division?

Struve has continually improved, incrementally in his seven year career. With nearly 30 fights of experience, it’s hard to believe he’s only 24-years-old. You don’t have to worry about Struve’s fights going to the judges either. With only two out of 29 fights reaching the judges scorecards. Win or lose, Stefan comes to fight. The only thing that has ever kept Struve from reaching the top of the division is that he has a relatively weak chin, with four out of his five losses coming by TKO or KO. As much as Dutch striker enjoys to stand, he has a great ground game. His long limbs and length make it easy for him to submit opponents. That is where he needs to test Stipe.

Stipe has been flawless in his career so far with nine wins. He has finished eight of those opponents and seven of them came by way of KO or TKO. So, these two heavyweights could not be any more different with Stefan’s strength coming on the ground, and Stipe always looking for the knockout. This fight will be all about who can implement their game plan the best. Will Stipe be able to keep it standing, or will Stefan drag it to the ground?

The Bottom Line:

Stefan has always been a good fighter, but he has never been great. While Stipe has shown nothing but a will and a way to win. Look for this fight to be another case of Struve falling to another Heavyweight contender. Miocic takes it with a second round TKO.
