Strikeforce and M-1 Global are currently in the final stages of signing a revised deal that will have the two organizations co-promoting events together in the U.S. this year.

When the deal is signed, it will also be the mark for the return of heavyweight champ Fedor Emelianenko. Sources stated that both organizations are hoping for an early summer return for “The Last Emperor.”

“I think June, July is realistic for Emelianenko’s return,” stated Evgeni Kogan, M-1 Global’s Director of Operations. “It’s not 100 percent. Don’t take this as a fight announcement, but I think during the summer.”

Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker also announced on Monday that a event in June headlined by Emelianenko, was very possible. Fedor will most likely be facing Fabricio Werdum at the event.
