Usually fighters in disparate weight classes ignore each other, co-existing in a universe where their orbital trajectories will never intersect because of the Unified Rules prohibition against big men beating up little men. But somehow, someway, a beef has arisen between featherweight champ Conor McGregor and heavyweight champ Fabricio Werdum.

Maybe it has something to do with McGregor talking trash about Brazilians during the run-up to him taking out Jose Aldo.

Maybe it has something to do with McGregor’s impending clash with lightweight champ Rafael dos Anjos.

Or maybe it’s just the Irishman’s personality, and the never-ending stream of outlandish things that have come out of his mouth.

Whatever it is, Werdum has felt the need to strike at McGregor via Instagram.

And, uh, it’s kind of weird.

Sadly, we live in a world where McGregor and Werdum will never fight, so all this back and forth will never amount to anything.
