Former Ultimate Fighter competitor Kevin Casey made a triumphant return to the Octagon when he finished Bubba Bush in the first round of UFC 175.
However, getting down to fighting weight has likely cost Casey the win and possibly more. The Nevada Athletic Commission confirmed Casey failed his post fight drug test.
The fighter will face a suspension to be handed down by the commission, but he has also decided to release his own statement before that happens.
“I apologize to the UFC and the NSAC for my irresponsible action,” Casey wrote on Twitter. “I made a bad decision trying to cut weight. We are competing in a cleaner sport.”
Casey was found to have drostanolone in his system. The substance is banned by the NAC. Robert Drysdale was also found to have failed his post-fight drug test stemming from his fight at The Ultimate Fighter 19 Finale.
