Frankie Edgar has bounced back after suffering three straight losses in championship bouts, as he picks up his first win in his new division. That win comes over submission specialist Charles Oliveira at UFC 162 in Las Vegas, NV. Here is the full play-by-play.

Round One:
Edgar comes out in his usual fast pace. Frankie lands some big right hands with left hooks and Charles intelligently pulls guard. Edgar escapes and still looks to be getting the better of the striking with his speed. Oliveira lands a right over the top. Edgar with a leg trip, but Oliveira pops back up. Edgar gets another quick takedown but eats some elbows from Oliveira as the round ends.

Round Two:
Charles lands a hard leg kick and Edgar responds with his own rush takedown. Frankie again eats some elbows in the guard. Edgar starts to land on the top as he moves though guard. Oliveira gets it standing. Stepping in elbow lands for Oliveira. Big overhand right counter lands on the chin of Oliveira right after Edgar catches a kick. Double-leg takedown for Edgar leads to a guillotine.

Round Three:
Edgar lands a big shot. Oliveira wants it to go to the ground but Edgar unwilling. Oliveira lands a heavy kick to the body. A right rocks Oliveira, followed by a left and another right. Flying knee lands for Edgar. Edgar gets it down again and they finish on the ground.

Oliveira, a winner of three Submission of The Night bonuses and one Fight of the Night bonus, is definitely a rising star in the division. Defeating the very tough Frankie Edgar is no easy feat, yet the submission specialist from Brazil did just that.
