During his reign as lightweight king, Rafael dos Anjos took out the best. Then Eddie Alvarez took out RDA like he was a chump. What does any of that mean if the rumored UFC 205 match-up between Alvarez and Conor McGregor goes down?

According to Alvarez, fighting the superstar Irishman would be easy.

As per MMAFighting:

“I think he can do well, because it’s easy to be technical in the first round or two. It’s easy to be technical. But when the sh*t hits the fan and it turns into a fight, I will f*cking dominate this guy every step of the way. When it turns into when he’s a little bit tired and he has to dig down, it’s over. It’s all over.”

It’s important to remember that, before he became embroiled in the whole Nate Diaz battle, McGregor was supposed to challenge Dos Anjos for the belt. Could McGregor have defeated RDA? And if so, does that mean he’d fare well against Alvarez?
