He may have a ton of miles on him, but Demian Maia is still a killer when it comes to the ground game.

In the top bout of the UFC 190 prelims, the former middleweight contender took on the undefeated Neil Magny, and though Maia’s most recent outing had him dominating young Ryan LaFlare via superior jiu-jitsu, questions lingered about Maia’s ability to effectively deal with all these young bucks.

Those questions were answered immediately. Absolutely controlling Magny throughout the first, Maia was an alpha predator playing with its food. For his part, Magny defended well, but when the second round came, the Brazilian was just too much.

The tap out via rear naked choke came at 2:52 of Round 2.

Keep feeding Maia these youngsters and he’ll keep putting them away.
