Anthony Perosh may have been hoping to land a fight with a top ten light-heavyweight, but the jiu-jitsu guru has secured a tough challenge regardless in Ryan “Darth” Bader. The two will fight at UFC Fight Night 33 on December 7th, which will take place in Brisbane, Australia. If you weren’t aware, Perosh is from Australia, and is the latest fighter from ‘Down Under’ to get booked for the card.

Bader (15-4) is coming off a disappointing, stoppage loss to top ranked light-heavyweight Glover Teixeira at UFC FN 28 on September 4th. The powerful wrestler managed to stun Teixeira on a couple of occasions, but got caught coming in for the finish. The defeated followed Bader’s quick submission win over Vladimir Matyushenko in January, as the Power MMA fighter put away the vet with a guillotine choke just 50 seconds in. The only other man to defeat the 30 year-old in his last five tilts is Lyoto Machida, who knocked Bader out last August. Prior to that, however, Bader scored consecutive wins over “Rampage” Jackson and Jason Brilz.

Perosh (14-7) recorded a memorable win in his last outing at UFC 163 in August, as the 41 year-old vet floored Vinny Magalhaes in just 14 seconds. Interestingly enough, Perosh was knocked out by Ryan Jimmo in his outing before that in  7 seconds. Prior to the loss, Perosh won three straight fights by defeating Tom Blackledge, Cyrille Diabate and Nick Penner.

That’s an interesting match-up as a win for either fighter will keep them in reach of a top ten spot. UFC FN 33 will also feature Mark Hunt taking on “Bigfoot” Silva in the main event, “Shogun” Rua versus James Te Huna in the co-headliner, and Pat Barry battling Soa Palalei. That’s a pretty decent line-up, especially if you’re a fan of the Australian fighters.
