Two stand-up ‘bangers’ will look to return to their winning ways, as the UFC officially announces Dan Hardy (23-10) vs. Duane “Bang” Ludwig (21-12) at UFC 146. The event is set for May 26 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in the UFC’s backyard of Las Vegas, NV. Headliners of the card will be newly belted Heavyweight champ Junior dos Santos vs. former Strikeforce champ Alistair Overeem.
The preliminary card is expected to air on FX and Facebook.
Hardy is in hopes of putting an end to a four-fight losing streak and likely in need of the win to keep his UFC career intact. Even after a long fall from grace, the one-time title contender has stayed relevant thanks to his ‘leaving it all on the line‘ brawling style in the octagon said White.
Ludwig, also known for his fan pleasing performances was on his way up the welterweight ladder with back-to-back victories when he was recently stopped by Josh Neer via guillotine choke at UFC on FX on Jan. 20. Ludwig, best known for his unofficial fastest knockout in the UFC at six seconds. Though President White agreed that it was in fact the fastest KO in UFC history, the Nevada State Athletic commission is yet to solidify.
