The UFC has verified that Dan “The Outlaw” will be unable to compete at the upcoming UFC on Fox 7: Henderson vs. Melendez card in San Jose, due to an undisclosed injury. The UFC also released the notification that Jordan Mein would step in to take Hardy’s place against Matt Brown.

23-year-old Mein has looked phenomenal in his Strikeforce career, going 3-1. Since losing a title contender fight in Strikeforce against Tyron Woodley, Mein has been on a three-fight win-streak, taking out the very tough Dan Miller at the recent UFC 158 in front of his home crowd.

“The Immortal” Matt Brown has has had a pristine 2012, defeating four straight, including three knockouts. With knockouts over Mike Swick, Luis Ramos, and Chris Cope, while also putting a stop to the highly touted prospect Stephen Thompson, Brown enters as an easy favorite over the less experienced adversary.

UFC on Fox 7 takes place on April 20th, live on the broadcasted Fox channel.
