Not long ago, it looked like Michael Bisping and Cung Le might end up trading punches and kicks later this year, which likely put a big smile on the faces of more than a few fans. Then, June went by without any news regarding the possible bout, and more recently Dana White relayed that there was a “good chance” Le will coach the upcoming season of TUF China. Filming is expected to start soon for the series, with the debut set for November.

So what’s the deal? Well, while appearing on MMA Radio recently, Le reported that he’s not sure what’s next either, although, an upcoming fight with Bisping is looking less likely.

“Before [Bisping’s] last fight, my camp was talking to (UFC matchmaker) Joe (Silva) about a potential matchup, and they said that if he wins, it looks good. Next thing I know, two or three days ago, I saw that Bisping was going to fight in October in England.”

“Even though I’m not 100 percent, I wasn’t 100 percent in China, either. If they really needed me, they would have called me. I thought we were working something out, but obviously, the next day, the word was that they were targeting me to coach.”

The walking highlight reel factory also relayed that he saw White at the recent UFC Fan Expo, and that the UFC boss man plans to call him soon. Le also added that although he’s still interested in fighting “The Count”, coaching TUF China “would be pretty awesome.”

Le has been sidelined throughout the year due to ongoing problems with his elbow, which includes undergoing surgery. The 41 year-old marvel hasn’t fought since last November now, when he blasted Rich Franklin for a first round, KO win at UFC on FUEL TV 6. Hopefully we get to see him striking in an Octagon soon.
