Four years ago, Conor McGregor was a UFC rookie making chump change. Now he’s won belts in two divisions, and captivated the combat sports world so thoroughly with his antics – in the cage and out of it – that boxing superstar Floyd Mayweather has agreed to fight him.

August 26 is the date, the venue has yet to be determined, and we have no clue what either fighter is going to make. But once more McGregor has done the impossible by getting this boxing superfight, and regardless of whether he wins or loses (and he will surely lose, given his pro boxing record), the Irishman will be fabulously wealthy and will never need to set foot in the Octagon again.

Respect the man. He’s a legend for this.
