Undefeated middleweight prospect Chris Weidman has accepted the last minute challenge. He will step in to replace U.K. star Michael Bisping in his bout against Demian Maia at UFC on Fox 2 on Jan. 28 at the Chicago United Center.

A large step up in platform and competition as Weidman will make his broadcast debut on Fox early in his career against a tough former top contender in Demian Maia. Weidman coming off a submission victory over Tom Lawlor at UFC 139 in November, marking his third straight win in the Octagon.

Maia a Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu specialist with ever evolving stand-up, will be looking to continue his momentum after defeating Jorge Santiago via unanimous decision at UFC 136 in October.
