Top UFC middleweight Chris Weidman has had a tough week dealing with Hurricane Sandy in Baldwin, New York. MMAFighting’s Ariel Helwani made it out to the home to take a tour of the damage. The salt water has ravaged the fighters home, despite the Weidman’s efforts to save it. As many reports have came out on the damage; salt water has ruined much of the victims possessions. Weidman admits that he did not have it as bad as his neighbors (luckily insured) and will be looking to help out with the community as much as possible.

“No one’s ever really gone through this around here before, so no one can really tell what’s gonna happen. We have kids, so we have to worry about the mold, make sure there’s no mold coming up. I’m gonna have to [stay] with my parents. It’s still new, I’m still numb to the situation. Me and my wife haven’t gotten the chance to sit down and figure out what we’re gonna do.”

Weidman is still currently set to face Tim Boetsch on Dec. 29 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV.
