In cased you haven’t noticed, Chriz Camozzi has put together a nice four fight win streak heading into his UFC on FX 8 bout with Rafael Natal. Since Camozzi dropped a unanimous decision to Francis Carmont in October, 2011, the Factory X fighter has scored wins over Dustin Jacoby, Nick Catone, Luiz Cane and most recently Nick Ring. That’s not the easiest thing to do in the UFC middleweight division.
After handing Ring a split decision loss at UFC 158 last month, it wasn’t long before the UFC called Camozzi to see if he’d step in for the injured CB Dollaway against Cezar Ferreira on May 18th. Camozzi said yes, before Ferreira dropped out and was replaced by Natal. Make sense?
Speaking to Fighters.com recently, the noted striker had this to say about his upcoming bout with Natal, and how he thinks it will play out.
“I think the fight will go down where he comes in and we will trade some shots, and after I hit him a bit he is going to try and take it down and play on the ground. I hope he doesn’t for the fans sake, I hope he wants to stand there and trade and we will have a good fight and put on an exciting show for everybody. Maybe even earn one of the bonuses.”
A fifth straight win would be huge for the 26 year-old vet, and could very well open the door to a top ten opponent next.
UFC on FX 8 will be hosted by the Arena Jaragua Do Sul in Brazil and will be broadcast on FX.
