As he said in our original interview, I’m depressed because I’m fat, and I’m fat because I’m depressed. Next weekends UFC 162 is where we will get to see the return of (cut) Mark Munoz, as he takes on Tim Boetsch. If you had not heard the story, Munoz was on the cusp of a title shot, set to take on Michael Bisping for contender status. Unfortunately an injury dropped him out of the match; bringing in Chael P. Sonnen as a replacement. Then Munoz would take on current top contender Chris Weidman, who he later explained he took on injured, suffering a first round KO, dropping him down the ladder.

Between his re-injury and his dream running right through his grasp, “The Wrecking Machine” turned into “The Depressed Eating Machine”… But no more!

My sincerest gratitude to @Todd_Norman @sunfare & many thx to @rileyrross Sam & Monica Calavitta, & Stu White!

Battled through injury, self-doubt, and depression. I turned to food for comfort and what I found was more heartache. A never ending cycle of “eating because I was sad and sad because I was eating.”

No matter what adversity, you have in your life, you can be transcendent over it with God by your side and you can accomplish all things. Thank you all who believed in, encouraged, motivated and prayed for me! I thank you for you compassion and care! Now I am going in confident to #UFC162 with all I had to work through!

There r a lot asking, “how long it took for me 2go from 261 to 199.” Took 5 months of #desire #direction #discipline #diligence #dedication
