“Alpha” Cat Zingano moves to 8-0 after finishing Miesha Tate in the third round at The Ultimate Fighter season 17 finale.
After two close rounds of trading power shots and technical ground transitions Zingano was finally able to get the edge and put it on Tate in the third. The momentum seemed to switch in the favor of Zingano towards the end of the second and from there on it was her time to shine. Halfway through round 3 she started to land brutal knees and an elbow that forced the referee to step in and stop the fight. Tate’s face was left bloody and battered.
Official decision: Cat Zingano def. Miesha Tate via TKO (knees and elbows) Rd 3 (2:55)
Zingano remains undefeated and will be given the opportunity to coach opposite Ronda Rousey on the next season of The Ultimate Fighter.
