UFC Fight Night 33 has picked up an intriguing bantamweight fight, as according to multiple reports, Alex Caceres will face Mitch Gagnon at the December 6th event. The card will go down at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre in Brisbane, Australia, and will feature Mark Hunt versus fellow heavyweight vet “Bigfoot” Silva in the headliner.

Caceres (9-5) is coming off a tightly contested, split decision win over Roland Delorme at UFC 165 last month, which extended the TUF 12 vet’s undefeated run to four. Since losing by split decision to Edwin Figueroa in February, 2012, “Bruce Leeroy” has also scored wins over Damacio Page and Motonobu Tezuka. The 25 year-old also defeated Kyung Ho Kang this past March at a UFC on FUEL TV event, but Caceres tested positive for marijuana after the bout and the fight was declared a no-contest.

Gagnon (10-2) also recorded a win at UFC 165, as the bantamweight choked out Dustin Kimura with a first round guillotine choke. Prior to that, at UFC 152 last September, the 28 year-old tapped out Walel Watson with an opening round, rear-naked-choke. The Canadian has gone 2-1 thus far in the UFC, as he lost by third round, submission to Bryan Caraway in his Octagon debut at UFC 149.

So, considering what Gagnon and Caceres bring to the cage in terms of approach and abilities, this could be an action packed fight.

To date, 11 scraps have been booked for UFC FN 33, including Rua-Te Huna, Bader-Perosh, Mizugaki-Phan, and Barry-Palelei among others. The card is expected to air on either FOX Sports 1 or 2, but nothing’s been confirmed just yet.
