Roy Nelson will continue on as ‘Big Country‘ after all.
Though Nelson had recently made plans to move to light heavyweight with the addition of 100k Facebook fans, the UFC has made other plans as they have booked Roy Nelson vs. former Strikeforce star Antonio ‘Bigfoot’ Silva for UFC 146. The event will take place May 26th from the MGM Grand Garden Arena on the same card as the heavyweight title match between Junior dos Santos and Alistair Overeem.
TUF season 10 winner, Roy Nelson will be looking to rebound from a bout against fellow heavyweight import Fabricio Werdum, where he suffered a three rounds knee-beating that resulted in a unanimous decision loss at UFC 143 in February.
The large Brazilian Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva will also be looking to return to the win column after suffering a KO loss to Daniel Cormier in the Strikeforce heavyweight’s sem-final rounds. Prior to the loss, Silva had put himself on the map with a TKO doctor stoppage of Fedor Emelianenko.
Here is the look of the card as of now.
