The Silva saga continues. Former friends and training partners Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva and Thiago Silva are now a medical visit away from turning their fighting words into an actual fight.

After “Bigfoot” threw the first jab at Thiago following the latter Silva’s dismantling of Rafael Cavalcante at UFC on FUEL TV 10, Thiago responded with words of his own, welcoming the former heavyweight title challenger to meet him at light heavyweight. It seems those words were taken at face value as “Bigfoot” is now in the process of seeking medical clearance from his doctor to make a healthy cut to 205 pounds.

The Brazilian behemoth spoke to Fighters Only about this proposed plan, issuing a statement of sorts:

“I used to visit his house and he did mine, I was something of a brother to him and he simply stabbed me in the back and cheated me. He said I’m upset because he left ATT, but he knows its not because of that why I’m mad. I thought he was a coward. Many fighters perform at different weight classes, for example Anderson Silva and Dan Henderson. I personally will attend the doctors to see if I am able to lose weight without spoiling my health. If can do it, I will drop weight to make this fight for sure. All I want to do is just fight him because words won’t make him change. He’s mentally sick, we’re completely different people. I am a family guy. I respect my father, mother, wife, I treat my friends well, without pulling their legs, and I don’t take drugs.”

It looks like the bigger Silva isn’t letting this one go. He even went so far as to berate the smaller man. While sometimes it’s necessary for low blows to give a man a little encouragement to show up across the cage from him, he should probably choose his words a little more wisely next time. As was the case with Alistair Overeem, “Bigfoot” once again brought up the use of drugs as a dig at his potential opponent. Seems he forgot about his own past failed drug test at Elite XC in 2008.

No word yet on when or how the beef started but “Bigfoot” has made a habit of publicly displaying his sour grapes and usually at the expense of his own credibility. Whether he’s sad Thiago left him for a new adventure or he’s upset that same man spanked his other Brazilian friend and training partner, one thing is very sure: This fight would make for some serious fireworks.
