Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva has derailed the title aspirations of former Strikeforce, K-1, and Dream champ Alistair Overeem at UFC 156 in Las Vegas, NV. Looks like our editor Ben Bieker called the upset in his 156 predictions.

The fight may have not been as fast-paced as we’re use to seeing in Overeem’s striking exchanges, as it was looking one-sided early, in the K-1 Grand Prix winner’s favor. Round one had Reem stepping forward to a tentative Silva, refusing to open up. Late in the second however, Silva landed an uppercut and knee which sparked Overeem’s attention. The third round then proved to be the finish, as Antonio came forward stunning Overeem with a straight right. From there the combos flowed, dropping jaws as the man with numerous belts fell to the canvas.

Official: Antonio Silva def. Alistair Overeem via TKO (punches) – Round 3, 0:25

He may not earn a title with a win over the former top contender, due to his recent loss to current champ, Cain Velasquez.
