Bantamweight contender Michael McDonald has singed a new four fight contract with the UFC. Given that he is currently 4-0 in the UFC, it was not a bad choice on the promotion’s part. And, at age 21 he still has years of fighting to come in the octagon.
In fact, McDonald was on the short list to fight Urijah Faber for the interim title when Dominick Cruz tore his ACL. Unfortunately, a injured hand kept him out of the fight. The injury came about in a first round knockout over former WEC bantamweight title holder Miguel Torres.
As the fans await McDonald’s return, they at least now know he will be around for many more fights to come, and if Cruz is out for much longer, an interim fight may be within his reach.
