Ryan “Darth” Bader will not be able to make his UFC 160 fight against knockout artist Glover Teixeira at UFC 160 on May 25. The collegiate wrestler has been reported to have been advised by his physician to not compete, due to a collateral ligament injury (MCL). He is expected to be out for six to eight weeks with no contact. Targeted return is currently late summer.

The MCL tear unfortunately is not a rarity in the sport. It wasn’t long ago that top contender Dan Henderson was forced out of his bout against Jon Jones at UFC 151 last summer.

In the absence of Bader will now be James Te Huna, stepping in against heavy handed Glover Teixeira. Te Huna is currently riding a very impressive five fight win-streak, including two striking finishes. Te Huna was last seen stopping the Ryan Jimmo hype train at UFC on Fuel in Feb. with a three round decision.
