Recent comments by Bellator welterweight champ Ben Askren on Twitter had stirred the MMA pot once again. Comments of his ability to beat the UFC champ caused a backlash of twitter attacks from the St-Pierre fan base to Askren.

“I don’t event read them,” said Askren. “I scroll though them. But I’ve got so much harassment from GSP supporters this past week that it’s hilarious.”

Askren recently extended an offer to UFC president Dana White and his welterweight champ Georges St-Pierre. That offer being to take on the champ at the next UFC Expo in a wrestling match. The bet suggested $1000 per takedown.  Initially offering 3-to-1 (St-Pierre underdog), quickly upped to 5-to-1 betting odds to White, whom is known as a gambler.

“I think obviously if we fought, I’d create scrambles I’d win,” he said. “And the other thing we saw – and I know (trainer) Firas Zahabi is making excuses – he got tired. He got really tired in the third, fourth and fifth round against Nick Diaz. But Diaz just doesn’t have the power to put GSP on his butt or put pressure on him.
