Just as UFC 153 in Rio looks to have lost all of its luster, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira steps in to help bring back name recognition as he takes on fellow heavyweight Dave Herman.

Nogueira (33-7-1) a Brazilian native has the odds in his favor as UFC Brazil cards stand at an astonishing 90 percent victory rate for the home team. We last saw ‘Big Nog’ in the octagon against former champ Frank Mir where he suffered a grotesque kimura finish that left his arm broken. Originally scheduled to return against Cheick Kongo at UFC 149, Nog was forced to withdraw as the healing was not on schedule coming into the bout.

The American,  Dave Herman (21-4) has receently suffered back-to-back loses as he took a KO loss recently to Roy Nelson at UFC 146 and a TKO loss to Stefan Struve at UFC on Fuel in Feb. 2012.

The two are currently expected to headline the event, as the promotion looks to fill in another headliner after losing both the main and co-main event yesterday. Lyoto Machida and Wanderlei Silva have tweeted that there is a surprise announcement coming soon for the Rio card. Any idea what they could be referring to?
