Dana White was right on the money when he told media in the post-fight press conference that Anderson Silva just needed time to digest his first loss in seven years, but that he will want this ‘huge rematch‘ for redemption. Now that the dust has settled, a source (that wishes to stay private until match is official) is saying Silva is more than ready for redemption. The source claimed that Silva joked of fighting Weidman this weekend.
The source’s information aligns with other recent news, as UFC president Dana White had recently told The Los Angeles Times that it’s very likely that Ronda Rousey vs. Miesha Tate gets moved to the Super Bowl card on Feb. 1 so that Weidman vs. Silva II could take place on the Dec. 28 end of the year card instead. Weidman has also reported that he has been told to be ready for the rematch in Dec. or in Feb. by UFC owner Lorenzo Fertitta.
With both suggested dates exclusively taking place in the UFC’s backyard of Las Vegas — it is more than likely that is where we see the event take place. Either MGM Grand (my guess) or the Mandalay Bay Events Center.
