Anderson Silva may have told the media Monday that he’d probably come up short in a bout with Jon Jones, but according to the UFC Middleweight Champion, that doesn’t mean he’s scared of Jones, UFC 162 opponent Chris Weidman, or any fighter for that matter. Being fearless is probably a little easier ,of course, when you’re the consensus P4P best fighter.

When Silva was reportedly asked about Jones earlier in the week, the 38 year-old legend relayed through a translater that “if I fight Jon Jones, I don’t think I’m going to win,” and cited the light-heavyweight champ’s size as a reason. The candid comment may have surprised people, even if some fans believe Jones would indeed emerge victorious in a “super fight” with Silva.

Well, in the latest edition of “UFC Tonight”, the 38 year-old “Spider” also let folks know that although he respects Jones, he’s not afraid of throwing down with the younger star (quote via MMA

“I’m not scared of Jon Jones, of Chris Weidman or whoever. I’m here to fight. That’s it. It’s simple.”

If you’re like millions of other people and are hoping to see Silva face Jones, that’s some pretty “simple” and good news.

Silva also discussed Weidman, who seemingly a growing number of fighters and observers are predicting will end the champ’s reign on July 6th. The legendary fighter noted that Weidman has good wrestling, striking and jiu-jitsu and that’s why it will be a “great fight.” Here’s hoping it is.
