Two of the middleweights finest will be going head-to-head as UFC President announces Alan Belcher (17-6) vs. Rousimar Palhares (14-3) for UFC on Fox 3.

The bulky Brazilian, Palhares has looked impressive as he out-grappled his last three opponents in the octagon. ‘Toquinho’ was last seen wrapping up a nasty heel hook on Mike Massenzio at UFC 142 to earn him ‘submission of the night’ honors.

Belcher has also been riding a three-fight winstreak in the promotion after taking a 16-month layoff due to a career threatening detached retina. Since then, ‘The Talent’ has been back in form with fights like his submission of the night over Patrick Cote at UFC 113 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

The event will take place May 5 from the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, N.J. Headliners will be Jersey Native Jim Miller vs. Nate Diaz.

With Belcher vs. Palhares added to the card, the likely line-up will push heavyweights Barry vs. Johnson off the broadcasted main event.
