It seems this is the year of rematches as Nick Diaz’s (22-7-0) camp, Gracie Jiu-Jitsu has just put out an announcement that Nick Diaz and K.J. Noons (10-2) have both verbally agreed to an October fight for the Strikeforce welterweight belt.
The first outting between these two resulted in K.J. Noons pulling out the win by TKO in round one, due to a severe cut given to Diaz at Elite XC, in November of 2007.
Both men have been on a six win streak as of late. The only difference is Diaz picked up the vacant title on his way, which Noons believes belongs to him.
Also calling out Diaz recently was Bully Beatdown star Jason “Mayhem” Miller. Miller was angered over the “Strikeforce Nashville Brawl” in which Mayhem explained he was jumped by the Gracie camp because Diaz threw the first punch. Miller recently was seen campaigning for the fight, wearing a t-shirt quoting Diaz, “Don’t be scared homie,” which he later told MMA reporter Ariel Helwani that if the fight was not made, it was because Diaz was afraid of him.
