Strikeforce owners, Zuffa LLC. is yet to deny or confirm that the rumors that they will be shutting the doors on Strikeforce promotions. Regardless, with news of the females moving over, the writing is capitalized on the wall. UFC president Dana White all but confirmed the demise, admitting that he was once excited for the promotion, but now only sees it as a disappointment.

“Yeah, I was excited,” White said. “You guys know that. I was really excited about it.”

“I am (disappointed),” White told a small group of reporters following the post-even news conference for UFC 154 in Montreal this past week. “I don’t want to talk any s—, though. I could for about four hours. But I won’t. It’s not worth it.”

Strikeforce is set to put on a Jan. 12 show in Oklahoma city, but the card is already feeling the injury bug as headliner Gilbert Melendez is reportedly unlikely to be healed in time for the card. Still intact is two other title fights and the verified final heavyweight fight between Daniel Cormier and Dion Staring. Here is the line-up as it stands.
