It is currently being reported that the former WWE star and now Strikeforce heavyweight star, Bobby Lashley (5-1) is currently a free agent, as his contract with the organization has expired.

Talks of renewal are already in motion. Though is currently in what is called the “exclusive negotiating period” with Strikeforce, which means he cannot sit down with other organizations to match prices as of yet.

The question is, would the big draw, Lashley be picked up by the UFC? Following a loss to what was believed to be a mid-tier fighter, Chad Griggs, Strikeforce President Scott Coker showed less interest in Lashley.Likely the organization would not want to lose the popular fighter, but Coker has talked about Lashley taking a step back in competition. Challenger series bound maybe?
