If you missed the last nights action, former WWE star Bobby Lashley suffered his first MMA loss to the hands of newcomer, Chad Griggs. Griggs finished Lashley at the end of round two, punching Lashley in the head until he got the verbal tap from Lashley. Following the fight, Lashley walked away disapointed. Later he was seen being taken on a stretcher out of the arena.
Reports have came in that Lashley was suffering dehydration following the fight, and that along with the severe laceration below his eye.
“The latest update on former WWE and TNA wrestler Bobby Lashley is that he was released from the hospital early Sunday morning (late Saturday night), according to Strikeforce officials.”
“Lashley was said to be “extremely dehydrated” after his fight against Chad Griggs on the “Showtime: Houston” fight card. At the hospital, Lashley was treated with multiple IV bags to pump fluids back into his system.”
“Bobby Lashley actually went to the hospital and I think he went to get his eye stitched up,” Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker said at the post-show press conference when asked about Lashley’s status.
There was also a mention from Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker that Lashley needs to do some soul searching to determine if he wants to continue on in MMA. Perhaps the former pro wrestler expressed a change of heart to his new boss? One loss does not usually cause a promoter to say you may want to retire.
