Rumors of Strikeforce heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem not defending his  belt against number one contender Werdum will continue, as the Dutchmen once again leaves the states.

Overeem has verbally agreed to return to Japan for his next fight on Dream.15 against Ricco Rodriguez July 10, reported

Bout agreements are expected to be finalized shortly, followed by an official announcement by the Dream promotion.

Overeem (33-11 MMA, 3-0 DREAM) will enter the fight with a five consecutive win-streak. Overeem’s most recent being an impressive first round TKO over the large heavyweight, Brett “The Grim” Rogers in May, 2010. Overeem also holds impressive victories over notables James Thompson, Paul Buentello, and Vitor Belfort.

Former UFC  heavyweight champion Ricco Rodriguez (42-11) will be making his Dream debut with a consistent seven win-streak, winning 13 of his last 15 battles. Similar to his challenger, Rodriguez ended his most recent fight against Ken Sparks by first round TKO also. Rodriguez holds notable wins over UFC hall-of-famer Randy Couture, Jeff Monson, Andrei Arlovski, and Paul Buentello.
