I may not be a pro fighter, but like many fight fans I do train in jiu-jitsu and muay thai. I have a decent collection of MMA gear, but just recently had my first experience with the high-end Hayabusa branded fight shorts. Here are my thoughts on the experience.

As soon as I slid on the new Mizuchi model shorts I felt like I had been custom fitted to them. My first thoughts thought it may be too tight, restricting leg movement. After stretching however I realized there is zero restrictions in my leg-span thanks to the side slits. The rubber grip waistband along with the heavy velcro strap makes it next to impossible for any pant-sing antics or more likely sagging shorts in training which was a huge plus. The “T3” stitching on the material is thick, like teflon strong, leading me to believe these shorts will have a long lifespan.

Lastly, I never really noticed but the features also list an “odor inhibiting technology” included in the material. I guess I can say the shorts did not smell even while drenched in my sweat. Keep in mind I don’t usually smell my shorts after practice, so I’ll take their word.

Overall I’m extremely happy with the shorts. They are a bit more pricey than others ($69.99) , but I see why now. I would suggest you to drop the cash on them only if you are a consistent student of the game. You can find these shorts seen above on Hayabusa’s official site.
