Not the most traditional training, but would you really mock Strikeforce import Derek Brunson to his face for cheerleading? Here’s what the pumped up pom-pom user had to say about the origin of his strength.

“I was like tossing girls in the air – that’s where I got my strength from, just controlling girls in the air. You get core strength, your chest gets all big. It makes you really strong, like you look on steroids, but you don’t have to take steroids because of cheerleading.”

Not to say that Brunson is a cheerleading specialist, but as Brunson puts it, he took the easier route in college with wrestling.

“Cheerleading is definitely hard on your body. That’s why I decided to wrestle in college, not cheerlead.” – Via MMAFighting
