Today’s ONE Championship event in Malaysia, dubbed “Tigers of Asia,” saw dramatic knockouts in its two featured bouts.

Russian Vitaly Bigdash had to rise from the canvas to score a TKO victory in the show’s main event. Bigdash, who had been floored by his opponent, ONE middleweight titlist Igor Svirid early in round one, scored a knockdown of his own later in the stanza and eventually recorded a TKO victory at 0:36 of round two.

Bigdash improved his MMA record to 8-0 with the win and earned the ONE 185 lb belt. Svirid, of Kazakhstan, drops to 10-2 with the loss.

The co-main event saw Malaysia’s own Ann Osman fall to Russia’s Irina Mazepa in a stunning first round knockout.

Osman used her typical grappling attack to control the early going, but Mazepa was able to escape a stoppage in the mount position. After the action moved to the feet — and after defending a takedown with an illegal hold of the fence — Mazepa showed impressive punching combinations. Osman was stunned and dropped by a left hook and the referee called a halt to the action at 3:05 of round one.
