Cage Warriors Fighting Championship have reached an agreement with Bellator over acquiring the services of UFC and Strikeforce veteran Paul Daley (32-12-2) in CWFC 57 main event clash versus Pole Lukasz Chlewicki (10-2-1).

Currently under contracted with Bellator, the deal with Cage Warriors is as of now for one fight only. The event takes place July 20 in Liverpool, England at the Echo Arena and is Daley’s first appearance with the UK-based promotion since 2008, and Liverpool’s first Cage Warriors event since hosting Cage Warriors 21 back in 2006.

“I’m excited to be fighting back in the UK again and back at Cage Warriors, which is Europe’s premier show,” said Daley.

“I pretty much started my career here and it’s great to see how the promotion has grown. I’m happy to be part of it and I can’t wait to entertain all my supporters.”

CWFC CEO Graham Boylan spoke of his appreciaton of Bellator’s cooperation in the deal:

“I’m looking forward to a fantastic main event in Liverpool on July 20, and I’d like to thank Bellator for their cooperation in allowing Paul Daley to compete for Cage Warriors.”

While Daley is a 5-1 run, his opponent Chlewicki, who makes his CWFC debut, is on an impressive 5-0-1 run, promising that both men take a lot of momentum coming into this welterweight clash.

Chlewicki said: “Taking on one of the best guys in the world, this is the kind of fight I’ve been waiting for. This will be a massive challenge for me, especially in front of his fans, but that won’t affect me at all and I’ll be prepared.”

“I want to thank Cage Warriors for giving me this opportunity. On July 20 I’ll prove that they made a good choice.”
