Marcus Davis (17-6) was quite optimistic that his next opponent will be Nick Diaz (21-7) when interviewed by The only problem with the match-up is that the Tennessee Athletic Committee (TAC) is still investigating the infamous “Nashville brawl” in which Diaz was involved with. It is possible Diaz may be suspended as punishment for his involvement.

“The only time I’ve heard of this fight is when my manager asked me about it two days ago. I said yeah, I’m definitely interested in that fight, you know? I’ll take that fight for sure. We haven’t received any contracts or anything, but that was a couple days ago and I haven’t heard anything since, so who knows? My manager spoke to Mark DellaGrotte about the fight to see if he thought it was good for us, but I haven’t heard from him either. I have no idea what’s going on with Nate and whatever suspension he may be facing. I don’t pay attention to that stuff. I don’t know what’s going on in that kid’s life. All I know is that I was told that he verbally agreed to the fight, and of course I verbally agreed to it. So as far as I know it should go down.”
