Former UFC lightweight champ Jens Pulver lost his sixth fight in a row this past weekend, against a fairly unknown fighter Diego Garijo at War on the Mainland. Pulver was submitted by a guillotine in the very first round. Many fans are wondering if this could be it for “Lil’ Evil.” But when Pulver spoke recently with Fight Hub TV after his loss, the fighter said he’ll retire on his own terms.

“It’s just a tough career man, you know I lose eight of nine fights, it’s like, ‘What am I doing?’,” Pulver asked. “I’m trying to figure it out, maybe it’s just that time. It’s just frustrating.”

Even though Pulver seems to be on a losing streak, he says he continues to fight for the sheer love of the sport.

“I don’t know man, I do it because I love it,” he said. “I enjoy training and I enjoy going out there and fighting. I feel good … it’s definitely frustrating.”

And regardless of the trouble Pulver has been having, “Lil’ Evil” still believes he has the drive and heart to compete. He leaves us wondering if we will ever see him back in cage though.

“You gotta hear the entrance song I came out to: ‘A Little Chicken Left On That Bone’ by Craig Morgan and that’s exactly what it’s about,” said Pulver.

“Nobody’s gonna tell me when to retire. Again, I got caught in a damn guillotine. I’m not getting knocked dead asleep and I feel physically great. I’m having a great time. I’m 34-years-old and I’m slumping, I’m slumping hard right now but I’m still having a great time. I love this life and I love this job.”
