How appropriate. The promotion “Legend Mixed Martial Arts” is reportedly putting together a Pride classic, rematch. No, it isn’t Fedor, but it is his brother Alexander Emelianenko, who is expected to return against  Pride and K-1 legend Mirko Cro Cop Filipović. Yes, Cro Cop did retire after a lackluster stint in the UFC — only to return to his original sport of kickboxing.

“Aleksander” (Russian) may not carry the same fame as his older brother (who would), but he is a veteran coming off a win. Sure, it was over the “big flopper” himself Bob Sapp, but it’s still a victory over a name. Prior to the victory, “The Lil Emperor” suffered a loss to Jeff Monson in his last M-1 showing in Nov. 2012, via the rarely seen north south choke submission.

Cro Cop looks to once again be taking down the four-ounce gloves from his mantle, after his successful return to K-1 to take the tourney with a win over Jarrell Miller, Pavel Zhuravlev, and Ismael Londt. Mirko did also have a recent armbar win in MMA over at IGF when he took out Shinichi Suzukawa.

Needless to say, both men have some fight left. Cro Cop will likely be a heavy favorite coming into the bout as he not only carries the more impressive, recent record, but had also taken the first fight via viscous head-kick KO in the first round at Pride FC in 2004.
