Cole Konrad, training partner of UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar, won his first MMA fight over the weekend under the Max Fights promotion –  in Fargo, N.D. Konrad is 25 years old and also a former 2 time NCAA heavyweight wrestling champion.

Lesnar was also in attendance cornering for his training partner, as well as fellow Minnesota Martial Arts teammate Chris Tuchscherer. Konrad finished his opponent in just 67 seconds via a neck crank submission over Gary Hamen (1-1).

Konrad won back to back NCAA wrestling championships in 2006 and 2007. While in college at the University of Minnesota, Konrad won 76 straight matches, a school record. Konrads’ next match is already scheduled for a fight with Joel Wyatt on Feb. 27.
