Sergio Pettis continues to follow in his older brother’s footsteps, yes, it’s Anthony if you weren’t aware, as the 19 year-old flyweight extended his perfect record to 8-0 at Friday’s Resurrection Fighting Alliance card. Pettis dropped opponent Dillard Pegg moments into the bout with a right hand, and finished the deal with follow up punches to earn the win in 51 seconds.
With the victory Pettis also secured the promotion’s vacant flyweight belt. Pegg stepped in as a late replacement for UFC vet Jeff Curran, who had to withdraw from the bout due to personal issues. Pegg’s record now sits at 5-2.
Four time All-American wrestler Lance Palmer also stayed undefeated, as the 25 year-old prospect worked his way to a split decision win over Jared Downing to move his record to 7-0. In addition, the Team Alpha Male fighter picked up the RFA featherweight title for his efforts.
The defeat was just the second of Downing’s career and left his record at 9-2. Downing had won three straight bouts heading into the contest.
RFA 8 was hosted by the Rave / Eagles Club in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
