If you want to screw a promotion over, fight for – and win – their middleweight championship belt. Then announce you’re probably never fighting at middleweight again.
That’s what’s happened with Georges St-Pierre, who was a legend at welterweight, then retired, but was lured back after a few years to take on champ Michael Bisping in the 185-pound division. Since winning that title, our favorite Canadian has remained committal about who he’ll fight next… and has even gone so far as to say he might never return to the middleweight division.
Man, you could not screw the UFC any more than this – especially since they made such a big deal about bringing the former welterweight champ out of retirement.
Here are Bisping and Kenny Florian rapping about it all on UFC Tonight:
“…I’m not sure if I compete I’ll go back to 185.” — @GeorgesStPierre
Is the best fight for GSP next at 185 or 170? https://t.co/UHPYFgyWNT
