When Conor McGregor was champ, he was willing to fight only a select group of guys. Namely, boxing superstar Floyd Mayweather, in the boxing ring – and that was only because a fight with Mayweather would have made him ridiculously wealthy (and ultimately it did).

But newly-crowned lightweight king Khabib Nurmagomedov is cut from a different cloth. Unlike McGregor, Nurmagomedov is willing to face anyone.

It’s just not going to be until the end of the year.

Of course, Khabib’s devout Islamic background and strict observance to Ramadan (and the fasting required) would make training and fighting during that time problematic, so you can’t really hold that layoff against him.

You can, however, praise his willingness to take on anyone the UFC puts before him.

Conor who?

Lightweight division is the most competitive division in #UFC At this moment, atmosphere is very heated: there is Conor and Tony, Porier, Lee and Alvarez, all of them are good. Fight with any of these guys would be very interesting and competitive. I never choose opponent, fought with any fighter who was offered me to fight, and I’m not going to change that. I’m coming back November – December to defend my belt. Whoever @ufc decide to fight me with, I’ll sign. #bigdramashow #ufclightweight #mma #ufc #победатолькоотВсевышнего #inshaaAllah
