Welcome to CagedInsider’s coverage of UFC 225, a pay-per-view headlined by a rematch between middleweight champ Robert Whittaker and Yoel Romero. Oh, but don’t assume a belt is on the line. Romero neglected to make weight – yet again – so it’s a non-title fight. Whatevs.

It is, however, a pretty kickass card from top to bottom, so buckle in and hang on. First up: Brazilian submission wizard Charles Oliveira against amiable caveman Clay Guida.

The bout begins with the shorter Guida his usual frenetic self, flitting in and out and side to side while throwing knuckles. Oliveira responds by clipping him with a jab that immediately opens up a cut, and when Guida ducks his head down and shoots for a takedown – as he’s wont to do.

But Oliveira is slick as usual, and sinks the arm-in guillotine on the way down, and Guida is stuck. He’s forced to tap.
