With Conor McGregor doing a pretty spot-on impression of Ol’ Dirty Bastard in Brooklyn on Thursday, the world pretty much forgot that there was a Bellator installment going down in Budapest, Hungary. Which is understandable.
So! Bellator 196 was a thing, and former UFC star Benson Henderson finally found that elusive “W” in the Bellator cage. His opponent was former UFC star Roger Huerta, and though it’s pretty clear the years haven’t been kind to “Bendo”, they’ve been downright mean to Huerta. But whatevs, Henderson got the finish via choke, and that victory mitigates some of the utter crap he’s been putting forth since joining the number two MMA organization.
Other notable results include wrestling stud Ed Ruth winning a decision, and this high-flying knockout courtesy of Adam Borics.
Here’s a highlight reel for your troubles.
