The World Series of Fighting 5 main event between Mike Kyle and Andrei Arlovski was a competitive affair, contested completely in standup; one which saw Arlovski awarded a unanimous decision victory.

The action was close, but Arlovski was able to land his right hand throughout the bout, and was able to also score with some kicks in the later rounds. The Belarus “Pit Bull” probably out-landed Kyle, but many cageside observers thought Kyle’s two knockdowns would earn him the judges’ nod.

The action was also slow and steady throughout. Kyle, of San Jose, CA, landed right hands to drop Arlovski in the first and third rounds, but failed to follow up on the “flash knockdowns.” Arlovski appeared to clearly win the second. Kyle also attempted the only submission of the bout, a guillotine late in the third which Arlovski escaped easily.

Boo’s could be heard as the rounds wore on, but the New Jersey crowd cheered the decision.

Arlovski’s record improves to 20-10 with one no contest, while Kyle drops to 20-10-1 with two no-contests.

At World Series of Fighting 5, Andrei Arlovski defeated Mike Kyle by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28).
