Islam Makhachev is a Dagestani lightweight quietly amassing wins in the Octagon, and though he’d probably never fight champ Khabib Nurmagomedov, he has no problems being Khabib’s personal assassin.

Kajan Johnson competed on one of those international TUFs, washed out, and has won his last four fights in the Octagon.

They start off trying to take chunks out of each other with their kicks and punches, with Johnson scoring while Makhachev whiffs it. But soon Makhachev has Johnson tied up, and when he takes the fight to the ground, it’s almost as if Johnson has never grappled a day in his life (note: he has). Makhachev mounts him, snatches the arm, works to extend it, and gets the tap, and it’s pretty damn technical every step of the way.

Nice.
